RESUME
Maro Lesioti is an actress and musician, born in Athens in 1995. Her artistic education began in 2001 with music, when she started piano lessons when she was only 6 years old. In 2018, she completed her music studies graduating from the Hellenic Conservatory (Piano Performance Department) and began theater training in impro with Vasiliki Kissa, which she completed two years later. In the summer of 2023 she gratuated from 2020 “Modern Times” Drama School. She continued her studies at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
In 2018, Maro founded the impro group Raining Cats And Bats. The troupe directs and stages the improvisational theater works THE VILLAGE and INTERROGATION, which have been staged in several Athenian theaters, while also presented in international festivals in Sweden, Norway, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Spain and Ireland. In 2023 she directed the impro show EDMOND-JEAN-WILLIAM.
Immediately after her graduation she starred in the plays: MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING (2023), EXTREMITIES (2023) and THE LAST BIRD (2023-2024). At the same time, at the beginning of 2023 he accepts an offer to take over the production management of The Last Bird, as well as to act as Frank Totino's assistant director. Right now she is rehearsing for the scripted plays ULTRAS (actress) and WHITE ROSE (Actress, Director), she created and is directing the impro show HIERONYMUS BOSCH.
She the producer of “Improv Nights” in Athens and she has been teaching impro workshops in Athens since 2020. She has also taught in Crete(GR), Charlotte (NC), Asheville (NC), Black Mountain (NC) and the Netherlands and applied improvisation in a corporate environment in collaboration with Women Do Business. She is one of the artistic directors of the second international Improv Residency, in collaboration with Greenbridge and the Speakeasy Asheville Improv School, which will be held in Greece and the United States of America.
